OpenAI Surpasses 1 Million Paid Commercial Users

OpenAI's ChatGPT Enterprise, Team, and Edu commercial products have more than 1 million paid users. ChatGPT applications have amassed more than 200 million weekly active users, double the number of users from last fall.

This number is up from 600,000 users in April, and efforts to drive enterprise adoption of ChatGPT are paying off.ChatGPT Plus currently costs $20 per month. The free tier of the model is used by hundreds of millions of users each month.

OpenAI is developing “Strawberry” with the goal of enabling AI models to perform deep research. , “Strawberry” consists of a specialized method of so-called “post-training” OpenAI's generative AI models, or, in other words, “training” the base model after it has already been “trained” on large amounts of general-purpose data “ after it has been tweaked to hone its performance in a specific way.

Apple and chip giant Nvidia are in talks to invest in OpenAI as part of a new funding round that could value the company at more than $100 billion.
